Selection process results: Post-Doc “Mapping legal risks in eviction processes”

We present the results of the selection process for the post-doctoral fellowship “Mapping legal risks in eviction processes”. This fellowship is funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and is part of the thematic project “Evictions Observatory: interdisciplinary dimensions of risk in times of climate change and housing crisis” (FAPESP Research Grant 2023/12851-7), coordinated by Prof. Raquel Rolnik and hosted at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism, University of São Paulo (FAU-USP). The final selection is subject to definitive approval by FAPESP.

In total, we received 25 expressions of interest, including 8 national and 17 international applicants, with various academic backgrounds and profiles.

Given the specific technical and methodological requirements of the project, we conducted interviews with a shortlisted group of candidates. 8 applicants were invited for the second stage, consisting of virtual interviews.

Selection Criteria

The selection followed the criteria established in the call, prioritizing:

• Thematic Alignment: Expertise in administrative, urban, or civil law.
• Research Experience: Proven experience in jurisprudence research and interdisciplinary empirical legal research methods.
• Management Skills: Ability to manage projects, coordinate teams, and engage with partner institutions such as the Public Defender’s Office and the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
• FAPESP Requirements: Compliance with academic excellence standards, productivity, international experience, and a maximum of seven years since obtaining a PhD.
