The Evictions Observatory has updated its dashboard for visualizing evictions data in São Paulo Metropolitan Area, gathering information originated by collaborative mapping of evictions and ongoing threats of evictions between January 2017 and June 2023.
This update also includes information on evictions and repossessions from the first-degree verdict database of the São Paulo State Court, obtained through data mining techniques, which has enabled a quantitative approximation of the universe of judicialized cases.

About the Evictions Observatory
The Evictions Observatory has been mapping and monitoring the processes of threats, repossessions and evictions in the São Paulo Metropolitan Area since 2012, with the aim of making visible – and interpretate – a social problem that is very present in the city’s daily life but receives little attention. The work was developed through partnerships with several research groups (click here to see the groups that have already taken part) and housing justice social movements. The Evictions Observatory is currently developped by of LabCidade (Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism, University of São Paulo – FAUUSP) in partnership with the Transborda Research Group (Federal University of São Paulo – UNIFESP) with the financial support of Rosa Luxemburg Foundation.
