Continuing the activities to celebrate and reflect about the 10 years of the Observatory of Evictions, we will hold on June 21 and 22, 2022, an International Meeting (entirely online and with simultaneous translation english-spanish-portuguese, by Zoom) with the goal of debating methodologies of mapping of evictions, of articulations and incidences against processes of dispossession related to housing with groups involved in these cartographies in different places of the world and with different approaches
In order to situate the current context – economic, political, social and cultural – in which evictions occur, as well as to deepen the complexity of the current processes of political representation and dispute, particularly in popular territories, on June 21, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm (Brasília time) there will be an Opening Table “Dispossession and territorial resistances in Latin America: contemporary challenges”, with the panelists Gizele Martins (RJ, Brazil), Marcella Araújo (RJ, Brazil), Natalia Mendoza (Mexico), Raquel Rolnik (SP, Brazil) and Verónica Gago (Argentina).

The workshop “Cartographies and dispossessions: challenges”, will be held on June 22nd, from noon to 3pm (Brasília time), as a form of reflection and exchange of experiences between collectives and groups that adopt cartographic strategies in dispute processes that involve different forms of violence and socio-territorial dispossessions, among them threats of eviction and loss of housing. The workshop aims to discuss methodological strategies for the construction of cartographies in the scope of collective processes of resistance against threats of evictions.
